"Hush, Timmy- This Is Like a Church"

Here is a place that just breaks a person down the minute you close in. This very memorial is worth more than a thousand words. Those very names upon the granite stones is why we remember them dearly. Each name gave up their dreams so that we can complete ours. We owe them every effort to complete those dreams otherwise they wasted theirs. If you have ever seen the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial you will see exactly what I have explained to you. There are many places that you can enter and still be able to crack a joke here and there. This is not one of those places not because you want it that way but rather that it just gives off that vibe. Many feel that we waste a day on veterans day I politely invite those very people to the memorial in Washington to feel an outrageously great feeling when you look at the names that gave you your freedom. That walk across the grass, the sight of how many names there are what a sight. If you visit there and still have no positive feelings what took place in Viet Nam then please rethink why you have what you have. This place is a church for those who should be remembered and will be by many forever.

"Overindulgence"

The mouth watering after each bite from a well cooked meal. There is no other place to be then in my mother's house after she has prepared a meal. The smell is so inviting that you just head towards the kitchen just to see what is that great smell. I know that I should just eat a small taste of what she has prepared however that seems very impossible. After the first plate is finished I end up with another serving. I say that its a weakness yet when I look at it that would be untrue its a heavenly great pleasure to have.

My View of Two Sports

The sports world and the great impact it has. No one really understands what the sounds of the fans cheering and announcers yelling means. The sports and what impacts are made from the outcomes of these games played. However, you will see why people are so connected to each other through sports. Life has brought many sports to watch and participate in.

We choose who we cheer for and against. Much like boxing we all have our fighters we watch. Listening to the sounds of the music that plays as each boxer enters the ring. You can feel the power of some fans cheering for or against one boxer. As the bell rings and the announcer telling the tape on each one your heart pumps faster. As a fan you seem to be more connected then you realize. You find that all of a sudden you're the fighter and every move he makes is questioned by you. When the sound of the punches echoes in the arena you cheer louder. The blood that flows down the face of hopefully not your fighter after each punch they take. Not knowing who is really winning the fight. You feel the excitement of the fight as it goes on. You see many people with the flags that represent the country the boxer is from. Amazing how much pride each person has for the boxers. The fan base has made its connection with that person regardless. It's amazing that we feel overwhelming joy or sadness if they win or lose. Boxing is a sport that keeps you watching, wanting, and waiting for more. To have no idea what punch or round will end the fight keeps people around to watch. Boxing and football are two sports similar is physical appeal however, different in how it's played.

Football has an appeal that really allows me to watch. Since I enjoy boxing so much and all that hitting, football is the same in some ways for me. I found that they pull in much of the same fans and get the same reaction. I cheer for my team as each pass is thrown and caught. I take a deep breathe as each field goal is attempted for a win. In football i watch the game with passion because I am just waiting for that running back to break one to the outside and go 80 yards for the touchdown to win. The excitement that you have no idea who will win and what play will make the difference. This is an American sport being watched everywhere. The fans are from the entire world. People are connected to one another just based off what team they like. The impact of that similar bond goes a long way. Football has a fan base larger than ever expected. Its players come from all walks in life and because of that it brings hope that everyone can do it. What a great impact that makes as the connection between different people bond closer.

The sports annoucers connect with the fans on each given moment. Announcers give us the link between fans, the team or individual we cheer for and the athlete themsleves. We feel the connected to them and so as they do, we do. The great impact it has. This is how we the world live connected with one another through sports in some ways.

"The Wreck"

I can relate to this very story at some point. I at an early age experienced a very extreme car accident that a dear friend was involved in. She was a very peaceful yet smart, polite person. Life all changed with the sight of the car accident for all of us. Yet we all knew that she was heading to heaven just as the story said about the gentlemen in the story. Just one car accident has many effects good and bad to everyone. Weather knows no limits and has us in many different situations everyday.

"The Ravine"

After I finished this story it was amazing that we as kids all have a special place we liked to play. As I went on reading I saw small pieces of the past. It took me back to the big trees that we played in. At times it seemed like we lived in them with the amount of time spent playing there. Life has it silly lessons that we learn as we grow as children to adulthood. Quincy Scott's story took me back to that moment that we all quickly forget about when we become adults. The very place that I played as a child I now see me own children playing there now.

"The Hiroshima Museum"

In this very story about the Hiroshima Museum you could feel the pain that occurred that very day. Just the fact that there was no editorial comments on the exhibits says a lot. It let me know that words could not explain what happened nor did it have to. I mean what you really have to write about that very moment that people did not already know. The exhibits explained themselves with ease and the sadness filled the museum with a hush throughout. All that had changed in Hiroshima after the bombing and the impact that it took. We now find ourselves visiting museums just for this reason that there is life that has past and we move on.

"A Perfect Dog"

After reading the story I found that a perfect dog is rare. He happened to find a dog that after bringing him home in a cardboard box behaved better then imagined. He taught him commands that were executed with ease. Shaun was a dog that could be considered more a friend then just a dog. Riding in the car on family trips was enjoyable for Shaun watching the world pass as he looked out the window. I always hoped to find a dog that would have such a personality that Shaun did. What a pleasure it must have been to have a dog like Shaun.

Family Vacation Hawaiian Style

I felt the rumble and vibration of the plane's engines as it descended through the light grey clouds. Lowering its landing gears,as it took a brief glance out the window which brought much pleasure. Our arrival to Kona Island,Hawaii was as if we landing in paradise. Taking that first step off the plane I heard a most relaxing sound. A delightful sound of the ocean waves crashing against the rocks. Looking out towards the blue sky and the clear blue water as if there was no division between the two.

While we were driving around we could see a souvenir shop on each corner. Everyone was welcomed with "Aloha" which means "Hello" as you entered. It gave you a pleasantly warm, fuzzy feeling inside. All the locals were in shorts and tank tops to take in the sun. Even the children were playing in the sand or surfing the waves. It was as if there were no worries and everyone was stress free.

A light breeze moved the branches of the palm trees and allowed the sun light to illuminate the island. Not to forget the sand softly beneath my feet as we took our walks in the sunsets. Watching the sun slowly disappearing you could feel the breeze cool the air with a light mist. Heading back to the hotel, you would see tourist wearing their Hawaiian print clothing. Many were excited to experience the extravagant Hawaiian dancers. To see the mid-dress outfit's the dancers were wearing with their solid fit bodies. The dance with fire provided an excellent show to the public.

Getting ready to eat was like a picture you saw in a magazine. Food was displayed in such a passionate manner. The pork was cooked to perfection in a pit covered with dirt all day for all the guests. When serving the pork, it had honey glaze that just made your mouth water. The pork melted in your mouth with each bite, which taste was like sweet candy with the stomach asking for more. The beverages were refreshingly cold and made from all the fruits of the island. Pineapple.s were golden and extremely juicy, perfect to make smoothies. Each drink decorated with freshly slice bright red strawberries, sliced golden yellow pineapples, and mini umbrellas.
With the next morning upon us was a beautiful sight of the orange-red sunrise. Looking out on the balcony, I smelled a delightfully pleasant fragrance coming from the flowers that surrounded the island. My mind was taking in the moments as it was filing the beauty that lay right there in front of my eyes. It was colorful as if the rainbow was all around. Our unforgettable moments made us realize we were in Kona, Hawaii.
